Founded in the 1860s in Florence Italy, Panerai watches have evolved into this leather-strapped vintage watch. The current version, which is almost irresistibly elegant, emerged in 1949. The straps offset by a striking silver bezel and gold clock hands beneath the glass. Known for their exquisite and precise movement, the PAM00422 version is still in rotation by the watchmaker – but you never know when they’ll cease production. Then, the already considerable value will skyrocket even further.

3. Omega Spacemaster Z-33

Omega, in general, is a watch that’s held in high-esteem, and experienced a surge in sales of its Seamster variant after the latest James bond movie. They retain their value, and possess a heritage that stretches back several decades.

4. Patek Philippe

This sometimes “King of Watches” is so consistently valuable, that the particular model you might have or want is relatively unimportant from a value standpoint. It’s usually enough to put a down-payment on a house, though. The craftsmanship is impeccable, and the visage is gorgeous. There’s a reason they are the number one watchmaker on Earth – by some accounts, at least.

5. Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller

What would a watch list be without a Rolex?  Although it didn’t sell quite as much as intended at its debut, the name it carries, and the fact that it ages well, commands a high price from watch buyers.
